Riverstone Church
Yardley, PA
Center Stage worked with Riverstone Church on renovations to both its main sanctuary and also the Woodside AV room. We worked with the architect to specify and install Chroma-Q Inspire fixtures for room lighting and Chroma-Q Color one and Color Force LED fixtures in the main sanctuary. We were able to incorporate their existing lekos and color mixing LED fixtures in the main sanctuary. For control of the lighting, we installed Leprecon APC panels in both rooms in order for them to have consistency and familiarity in control.
In addition to the lighting and control, Riverstone presented us with a unique challenge. The Woodside Room is used by a variety of youth programs and presenters to show videos, do presentations, and hold meetings, as well as an overflow area for special services. The AV system needed to be able to handle all of those things, but needed to be simple enough that an inexperienced operator could come in and run things on their own! In addition, the church had created a 9′ x 32′ wall that was to serve as the projection surface for this room. They requested a three projector system-one would function alone in the center of the wall for general usage, and the other two would combine for a large format projection image. And finally, they wanted a system where they could use the projection system to put up static images in place of wall decorations.
Their budget did not allow for complicated switching or combining mechanisms. In the end, the solution was a Middle Atlantic podium with a combination of Extron and Kramer components to handle the AV control and inputs, leaving them room to bring a video feed from the sanctuary for special events. We combined the two projectors with video wall components to marry the images together into one. The static images were created with an ImageCue media server (that allows the church to update their images when desired), and these images were selected using the same APC panel as was used to control the room lighting. Simplified for all users!
Lehigh Valley Charter Arts High School
Bethlehem, PA
Center Stage Lighting and Rigging, Inc. worked with the Charter Arts High School to design, specify, and install the curtains, lighting, rigging, dimming and control systems for the construction of their new high school building. All systems were designed and installed by CSLR theatrical installers. This project featured a hybrid dimming system in the main theatre for both conventional and LED lighting. Dimming and control were through a Strand C21 dimmer rack and Strand NEO console. Fixtures were ETC Source Four conventionals, as well as Chroma Q Colorforce and Color One LED fixtures. Rigging was done with Thern motorized Clew Winches, and curtain tracks were ADC manual and motorized track.
In addition to the main stage, both a theatre classroom and performance space in their cafe were designed and installed by CSLR. Each space had a pipe grid installed, with dimming by Strand S21 raceways and ETC and Chroma-Q fixtures. Control was provided through a Leprecon LPC-48 console.
Finally, manual pull curtains were designed and installed in the theatre classroom and dance classroom to cover mirror walls. A great project showcasing how CSLR can take a project from idea to reality!
Lehigh Valley Hospital Network-Auditorium Renovation
Allentown, PA
Center Stage Lighting and Rigging, Inc. was tasked with upgrading the lighting and control systems for the auditorium at the Cedar Crest Campus of Lehigh Valley Hospital Network. This is a facility that is used by doctors, emergency personnel, and hospital executives for meetings and trainings. All major events are not only live, but are webcast and video recorded for off site viewers. The dimmer rack was outdated and needed to be replaced, and have the ability to handle conventionally dimmed fixtures, LED fixtures, 0-10v fixtures, and flourescent fixtures, They also needed the system to be accessible remotely from both on and off site computers.
CSLR found the solution with a Strand A21 dimming cabinet, and a Vision.net system with a touch screen at its center. The touch screen allowed for multiple presets that any user could activate, and network control of the system for the hospital IT staff. The A21 was stocked with different modules to handle the various lighting fixtures. The hospital’s current Strand Classic Palette console was also connected to the network, allowing the staff full remote control when required.
House light fixtures were replaced with Light Source RL Series LED fixtures, which allowed CSLR to replace LESS actual fixtures than the incandescent fixtures that were there prior. Elation WW Profile fixtures were added to supplement the existing Strand PL fixtures and remove the harsh angles and shadows that were cast on the presenters. The new system is brighter, easier to use, and more efficient than before!
Service Electric Cable TV News Desk-Chickie and Pete’s at the PPL Arena
Allentown, PA
Center Stage Lighting and Rigging, Inc. was tasked with creating a control system for the Service Electric Cable Tv Sports news desk inside the Chickie and Pete’s Restaurant in the PPL Arena in Allentown, PA. This desk is used live for a weekly sports show, as well as broadcasting during sporting events at the arena as they happen. SECTV wanted the system to have the functionality to be controlled remotely from an iPad, as well as a console as needed. CSLR created a system that was centered around a Strand Vision.net touch screen and DMX interface, allowing for both the iPad and console connectivity. In addition, CSLR provided City Theatrical Quolorflex LED tape throughout the news desk set and wireless dimming and control with D4 dimmers and ShowBaby wireless DMX.
Moravian College Foy Hall Stage Lighting and Projection Screen
Bethlehem, PA
Center Stage Lighting and Rigging, Inc. assisted the Moravian College music department in upgrading the lighting system on the stage at Foy Concert Hall. Musicians were having difficulty viewing their music and the R40 strip lights were no longer being fabricated. An upgrade was needed that would not replace their dimmer rack. CSLR designed and installed a system with upgraded Strand Vision.net wall panels and Chroma-Q Colorforce 72 LED fixtures for show lighting as well as Chroma-Q RGBW Inspire house light fixtures for both rehearsal and general use. Because of the great quality and unification of the Chroma fixtures, the stage can be lit to match the incandescent house lights, or colored and brightened for vocal, instrumental, and dance performances.
In addition, the college requested a a permanent projection screen to replace the portable one they had been using for years. CSLR installed a DaLite Electrol motorized front projection screen with key up/down control. The screen is hidden from view of the audience when not in use, and has enough size to be lowered to any height-even all the way to the floor if necessary!
Briarcliff Middle School
Mountain Lakes, NJ
A great example that no job is too small and we will go anywhere! Briarcliff Middle School has a combination gym and stage. They wanted their own theatrical lighting instead of renting for their concerts and theatrical productions. Center Stage Lighting and Rigging, Inc. worked with them and came up with a solution that got them their lighting, dimming, and control, and CSLR worked with SSRC to create a custom cage to keep those lights safe from errant (and not so errant) gym projectiles!
